The Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture invites you to attend a media launch for the Food Miles Project – a three year project which is designed to provide full accounting of the benefits and costs of a more locally based diet and the basis for further public education and policy initiatives. This is being carried out in co-operation with the Ecology Action Centre. We invite you to attend the launch which is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 8th at the Noggins Corner Farm Market, 10009 Hwy # 1, Greenwich, N.S. Light refreshments will be served.

Guest speakers will include Frazer Hunter, NSFA President; Marla MacLeod from the Ecology Action Centre; a representative from the Wolfville Farmers Market; Andrew Bishop; David Morse, MLA; and Fred Whalen, Warden. Also invited but not yet confirmed is Mark Parent, MLA.

We hope that you may be able to attend and show support for the “Buy Local” movement to convince the media representatives that this is an important policy objective for local farmers.
