The Women's Institutes of Nova Scotia (WINS) has been promoting their WI Buy Local Challenge Project at various Farmers’ Markets this summer. WINS is using a survey of consumers and producers on their food purchasing preferences. The WI Buy Local Challenge is a way to educate and encourage the public, producers, restaurant owners and food retailers to think local and make educated decisions when purchasing their food products year round. Surveys will be collected from the public until the end of October 2006 and at that time a final report will be prepared. A copy of this report will be provided to FMNS for their use. Read more.
