Nova Scotia Announces Funding for Local Food Systems, 5 Dec 08

The province announced new funding today that will make it easier and more convenient to buy local foods in Nova Scotia.
Two-point-three million dollars over three years will support the development of local food systems, which includes everything from farmers to consumers, and improve access to local foods for consumers throughout the province. Agriculture Minister Brooke Taylor says local food systems are an exciting and rapidly evolving sector and this funding will develop the roots between rural and urban food systems. The Community Development Trust Fund was established to help communities and sectors affected by economic challenges. Click here to read more.
